Did you know that if you eat hard shell nuts (Almond, Hazelnut, Pecan, Pistachio, Walnut) 1 ounce a day (about 28g) everyday, it will decrease your risk of heart disease.
From a research published on The Journal Diabetes Care about ‘Hard Shell Nuts and Decreasing level of Cholesterol’, 58 Diabetic patients who ate 1 handful of Walnuts everyday for 8 weeks has increasing level of good cholesterol (HDL) and more than 10% decreasing level of bad cholesterol (LDL).
There’s also a research from Toronto University found that eating any hard shell nuts about 30g a day with high soluble fiber food can decrease more than 30% of cholesterol. In one day, consuming variety of hard shell nuts is recommended, for example, 8 Walnuts, 10 Macadamias, 16 Pecans, 23 Almonds and 45 Pistachios. (For any of you who allergic to nut, don’t worry!
